The title of the book is controversial, but that is not what draws my attention. Merril Hoge is the co-author, but that is not what makes the book newsworthy. The opinions expressed swim against the common narrative of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) but that opinion is not unique.
What draws my attention is one of the co-authors is a concussion researcher, a former forensic pathologist and a current assistant professor of anatomy and neurobiology at the very same medical school that is the focus of the national attention for CTE and its link to football.
