Seattle Seahawks

TNF preview – Expect QB fireworks

Green Bay at Seattle

Spread: Seahawks -2.5

When Green Bay Has The Ball:

Although only two teams call a higher percentage of pass plays, the Packers might start to lean more on the run with the emergence of Aaron Jones as Green Bay’s lead back. Jones will not keep up the gaudy yards per rush numbers, but his touches continue to increase and it is clear that Green Bay needs to feature him more. Meanwhile, Seattle has allowed an awful lot of production on the ground at home and the Seahawks are susceptible to giving up long runs, something Jones excels at creating on his own. We could see quite a few chunk runs from Jones in this contest and possibly a slightly expanded role in the short-passing game.

Remembering Seattle NFL Icon Paul Allen

This is from our editor John Clayton

When I landed in Seattle at 3 p.m. Monday after two long flights from London, the breaking news was passing of Seattle Seahawks owner Paul Allen at the age of 65. Sad news and a big loss.

Allen meant so much to so many people, but he saved pro football in Seattle. I was working at the Tacoma News Tribune when Paul was in the silent process of buying the team. Ken Behring tried to move the team to Los Angeles. I remember getting a call on a Saturday that moving vans were at the Seahawks’ facility.

Q & A Seattle Seahawks Stud DT Jarran Reed

We like to take you inside the game all types of ways at Clayton Football. Today, we are going inside the locker room with an interview with Seattle Seahawks standout defensive tackle Jarran Reed. The third-year player from Alabama had a huge game in Seattle’s win at the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday and he is becoming a premier player at his position.

We spend some time with him here talking about the Rams and the state of life for defensive linemen in the NFL:

Fantasy Talk — Seattle Seahawks, Baltimore Ravens Have Smart Plays on Horizon

Our friend Warren Sharp does excellent work with advanced metrics at SharpFootballStats.com. At that website, Sharp (who does the best work concerning strength of schedule out there) lays out the degree of difficulty that each team faces in terms of their remaining schedule vs. both run and pass defenses.

In these metrics, two offenses appear in the easiest five for both the run and pass: Baltimore and Seattle. It so happens, that according to Sharp, the Ravens face the easiest slate of pass defenses and the Seahawks the easiest slate of run defenses for their final dozen games. Lets examine these two situations for fantasy reasons. Your league mates might not be viewing these situations in the same manner, but that’s why you read Clayton Football.
