This is from our editor John Clayton
When I landed in Seattle at 3 p.m. Monday after two long flights from London, the breaking news was passing of Seattle Seahawks owner Paul Allen at the age of 65. Sad news and a big loss.
Allen meant so much to so many people, but he saved pro football in Seattle. I was working at the Tacoma News Tribune when Paul was in the silent process of buying the team. Ken Behring tried to move the team to Los Angeles. I remember getting a call on a Saturday that moving vans were at the Seahawks’ facility.
