Hue Jackson Firing Headlines Mid-Season Black Monday

This wasn’t necessarily the Black Monday the NFL experiences at the conclusion of the regular season, but it was a dark day for quarterbacks and coaches.

Hue Jackson and offensive coordinator Todd Haley were fired in Cleveland. The Dallas Cowboys fired offensive line coach Paul Alexander. Jameis Winston was benched and replaced by Ryan Fitzpatrick.

The theme is obviously offense. Browns ownership tired of the inconsistencies on offense and were probably concerned how it was affecting rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield. Even back to the Hard Knocks days, friction between Jackson and Haley was visible in their first season together in Cleveland.
