Major Trade Trends Developing in 2018

Several trends are emerging as the trade deadline approaches Tuesday.

I love that the NFL moved the deadline back a couple of weeks. Having the deadline after the eighth week instead of the sixth gives more teams the chance to see if they are contenders or pretenders. With the deceased practice time under the 2011 collective bargaining agreement, it takes coaches longer to determine the direction of their teams.

As it turns out, trades have escalated. The Snack Harrison trade from the Giants to Detroit this morning is the 94th trade this year, topping last year’s total of 93. Last year, there were seven trades in the final days of the trade deadline. That number should hold up this year.

Fantasy Fact or Fiction — Don’t Sleep on Kareem Hunt

Below are several fantasy players whose production stuck out in Week 7 in either a positive or negative manner. Let’s examine if that trend will keep up or if it was just a blip on the radar.

Kareem Hunt

Week 7 Stat Line: 15 Carries for 86 Rushing Yards and 1 Touchdown, 5 Receptions for 55 Receiving Yards and 2 Touchdowns

Fact or Fiction? Fact

Hunt was likely a firs-round pick in your league and is on an elite offense. Yet, he began the season slow for fantasy as Patrick Mahomes was throwing touchdown passes at a remarkable rate and Kansas City was not scoring via Hunt.
